The original is in Little Five Points and I can say with all confidence that the food is excellent!
I went there yesterday and we ordered up quite a few things. Starting at the top I can
give a rave review to the mango margaritas, the chipotle calamari, the
black and white soup (black = black bean, white= habanero cheese soup
ladled side by side into a bowl), their original jerk chicken with a
raspberry coulis, black beans and rice, with a cuke and dill salad, and
finally the seared glazed tuna (an apricot glaze on an enormous hunk of
tuna, cooked medium rare) with yucca mash and fried plantains. Boy, this
is just making me hungry all over again!!!

This is one "hot" and wild place if you're looking for a night out on the town. If you're
looking for some "hot" food, I would recommend Taco Mac. There are several
around town, but the original in the 5 Points area is the best. Get the
Suicide Wings, they're great! They also have a vast collection of beer, well
over a hundred different types. |

I had no idea what to order so I asked the lady to pick something out for me
and make it spicy. Here's what I got:
Mysore Masala - A spicy version of Masala Dhosa served with sambhar
and coconut chutney (Masala Dhosa was billed as a grilled crepe of
blended rice and white lentils, stuffed with spiced potatoes and onions). This thing was huge.
Sambhar was a spicy vegetable lentil soup that reminded me of chili.
She gave me some mango yogurt shake on the house "because I would need
it for heartburn since I was not used to eating spicy food everyday".
I did not tell her otherwise! The shake was great.
I also got a pack of these things that looked like oats but tasted
different, as an after meal thing. Maybe Cardamon? Any ideas?
On a side note, I need to have her bump the spice way up next time!

If you are on LaVista Road and drive past the Northlake Mall area towards Atlanta there is a little country store about a mile on the
eft. It may have had the old-timey gas pumps at one time. It has a comfy atmosphere. They sell fresh produce, local jarred items and a
decent selection of hot sauces with samples. For now his sauces occupy one section of a wall and behind the register but he is
planning on expanding. |
