    JB's Rib Dipping Sauce

  • 2 cups Hunt's ketchup
  • 7 oz apple juice]
  • 1/3 cup CLARIFIED salted butter (this requires
  • one stick to produce 1/3 cup)
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 3 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbs applesauce
  • 2 Tbs Burgundy wine
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 Tb white sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp curry powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp white pepper

    • 2 cups of Hunt's ketchup - reduced to approximately 6 oz. It will be mahogany in color and the consistency of heavy frosting. Do this in a deep saucepan with a screen cover. Stir often and be patient.

    Combine all ingredients once the ketchup is reduced as noted above. Bring to a boil and immediately reduce to a simmer. This is s loose sauce, not thick.

    Meanwhile, in a 2-cup Pyrex container, mix .
