    Chinese Mustard Sauce

  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon ginger root or -- grated
  • 1 teaspoon dry ginger powder
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • Bring to a boil vinegar, sugar, salt and soy sauce. Mix cornstarch and dry mustard in 1/2 cup cold water. Stir in and cook until it thickens. Grate in ginger root (or dry ginger). Serve hot or cold.
